God's Temple There are many wonderful sites that can give you a far superior insight and understanding of the actual workings and practices of the Old Testament Tabernacle and Temple, and can do so in a way that far exceeds anything we could produce here. That is not the purpose nor intent of this portion of our site. Many have been trying to build their lives in Christ upon sand, having rejected the eternal foundation of the Old Testament, as well as the Hebraic roots of the Christian faith. It is written in Romans Chapter 11 that it is the root that supports us, and not we the roots. Japeth, who represents the Gentile tribes, shall dwell in the tents of Shem, and not the other way around. God who is only and ever wise, gave us the pattern of the Tabernacle, that we might understand that which is needful for the conforming of our life into the likeness of His beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the embodiment of all that the Tabernacle pointed unto. The manifest purpose of God is that we be conformed unto the likeness of Christ. He gave us the pattern of the Tabernacle, and gave us much in the way of instruction concerning it, for it is the understanding of it that enables us to labor with God unto the foreordained and purposed end that He has prepared for us. The hallmark of the Tabernacle was holiness. This is what we are to learn, and we learn it through the study of the Tabernacle and all that pertains to it, relating it through the power of the HOly Spirit to see the significance that it still holds for our lives today. Our purpose here is to make plain the relationship between the old and the new, between the Tabernacle that was in the wilderness and the Temple that you are being conformed unto. It is the bringing of the two together that is what is required for your life, if you would learn to love and serve the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul and strength . . . in Spirit and in truth. |
