This was why Jesus was born into this world, and this is why we are reborn into it. It also makes plain and clear that those who are of the truth, hear the voice of God unto this way that has been shown unto us.

Something should be noted here: a soothsayer is one who says what the truth is. This was why the woman with the spirit of divination, who brought her masters much gain by 'soothsaying' could say that Paul and Silas were servants of the most High God who come to show you the way of salvation, and still not lie.

However, declaring a fact is not the same as being a witness to the power of the truth contained in the words that you obey. We are no more witness to God through our evangelistic and outreach efforts, our fish emblems, t-shirts and whatnot than the woman with the spirit of divination was.

A true witness is one walks as the manifest testimony of what the Word of God can do in the life of a man or woman who obeys it in the power of the indwelling Christ. This is what Romans 8:3-4 is all about!

False witnesses will have their part in the lake of fire, because they have not only perverted the truth, but have also blocked the way and prevented those would come from doing so with their lies. These are the stones of stumbling and the rocks of offence for whom it would have been better that a millstone were tied about their neck.

The Lord speaks to His sheep with one voice, unto one direction. Those who are His hear His voice and follow after Him. Take heed that you do not turn the deaf ear of the adder to Him when He does speak.
